On the Land

My husband and I have been creating a nature sanctuary that we call our island of coherence since spring 2024 on over 6 acres of land and gardens that we are lovingly stewarding and developing with beings seen and unseen who welcomed us onto this land in Midcoast Maine. We feel they chose us to join them as guardians of this land, to help heal it and evolve from surviving to thriving as we co-create an island of coherence.

Our vision as this grows and expands is that we will touch and connect with other islands of coherence locally and globally with similar values and vision. Collectively, we can profoundly impact the full flourishing and conscious evolution of the earth and all life. We trust that as all of us move our piece of the puzzle into place and live more soulful, loving, deeply connected lives, many islands of coherence around the world will meet and become one with all of our unique and joyful qualities, offerings and intentions intact.

The Garden

Vegetable garden planted in raised beds with forest behind

For 2½ yrs we’ve been working hard creating 10 raised beds where we grow many vegetables, including an abundance of tomatoes, scallions, leeks, peas, zucchinis (courgettes), pumpkins, squash, green beans, lettuces, chard, kale and other tasty food. We also created a pond that has attracted many frogs, dragonflies, and plant life.

Nearby is a small wild flower meadow planted 18 months ago with glorious lupins in the late spring, black eyed susans, a mulberry tree and button bush, cornflowers, poppies, wild grasses and clover. We added apple, pear, and peach trees 2 summers ago with a path leading through the woods to a stream. We enjoy crossing the stream and walking up the hill to enjoy the circular path and trail we created on the land last autumn. It is calming, peaceful and meditative.

Our Region

Across the road is a glacial lake, and we are surrounded by 500 acres of wild land that has recently been incorporated into a conservation trust who will protect it in perpetuity. There are heron rookeries and beaver lodges in the wetlands on this land. The conservation trust is in the process of creating trails and a small parking lot. They will be opening this to walkers and visitors in 2027. Our neighbors are developing a non-profit on another 100 acres of land because they are ‘on a mission to guide young people off the grid and into their hearts’. They offer nature based outdoor programs and therapeutic adventures for young people up to 18 on the land and water nearby.

Our intention is to offer Soul Pathways life coaching on Zoom and indoors at our newly renovated carriage house. Our nature sanctuary for those who want fresh air and inspiration will also be available. Walk and Talk nature coaching sessions will take place outdoors on the land here and the nearby conservation trust land within walking distance. Any future events or workshops will take place in our carriage house gallery and nature sanctuary.
